Mar 22, 2021

With Monica Auslander Moreno, Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN)

As we spent more time at home and less time eating out this past year, meal planning has become a big part of our lives. Some people have taken online cooking classes, bought a new cookbook, or reinvented family favorites. While we’re all doing our best, it’s still important to choose the right kind of food that will give us the best nutrients and add the most benefit to our health. My guest today, Monica Auslander Moreno, is a registered dietician with a celebrity clientele that includes MLB team the Miami Marlins. According to Monica, eating certain foods can improve your health and your overall well-being. Stick around to find out what foods she recommends for spicing up your eating habits and maximizing your health benefits!

Today’s Takeaway:

I love to eat. But even more than that, I love to eat healthily. I practice mindful eating, and I truly enjoy my meals because I know I’m nourishing my mind, body, and soul. Everything tastes so much better when you treat yourself and your body to food that’s not only flavorful but good for you. Instead of reaching for that bag of potato chips or a candy bar, try something like a bowl of air-popped popcorn flavored with a delicious spice. Dill is a personal favorite of mine; I seem to put it on everything! Don’t forget—it’s really important that fruit and vegetables are the mainstays in our diet. When we give our body what it needs nutritionally, I think we sleep better and even look better! I’m Florine Mark and that’s “Today’s Takeaway.”
